13 of the Best Blind Auditions on The Voice

I love The Voice’s Blind Auditions, some of these make me freaking cry. And its just the blind auditions that have that particular brand of magic for me. Maybe because its got people who are really putting themselves out there, they are nervous, they are often not trained and you can see a million emotions.
Its amazing seeing judges go nuts when they professional singers, hear someone sing beautifully. I must’ve watched hundreds of blind auditions from every single country. And here are some that gave me goosebumps, shook me or in some cases made me cry.
I’ll set up the list in the order of emotional intensity, we’ll start off with great mellow songs which will move your heart, and slowly make our way down to auditions that’ll move your legs.
Bukhu Ganburged sings “Mother and Father”
This one is just wow. This man is talking to his ancestors on a different plane altogether. It made me cry — several times — what a performance. I didn’t know we can even make sounds like that from our throat.
Claudillea Holloway sings “Queen of the Night Aria”
Claudillea takes Opera and makes it cool. Watch it, usually I am a sucker for Blind Auditions, and the later performances don’t live up to the emotions that went on in the blind. In her case there’s another that is just simply beautiful, its in the link above — her last song, Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones, she completely owns that song, its a rendition of that song that still haunts me.
José Bonifácio — “Libertango”
Jose’s audition has stuck with me forever. There’s something really pure about it. I’ve no idea what the other judges were bickering about, but big respect to Marisa for asking her fellow judges to shut up.
Mennel Ibtissem sings “Hallelujah”
Mennel Ibtissem sings “Hallelujah” a Christian song, written by Leonard Cohen who is a Jew. And Mennel being a French Muslim lady puts in her own twist. To me this sounds like harmony, and what a rendition of that song.
Bogdan Ioan — Earth Song
Michael Jackson is back and is possessing this man from Romania. His rendition is almost an exact copy of Michael Jackson and you can see the judges absolutely loose their shit. The judges make the video a whole lot better, and it brings a huge smile to my face.
Iryna Boiarkina (ERIA) — “Wicked game”
This is what sweet dreams are made of. An absolutely beautiful cover and done with such passion, loved it thoroughly.
Will Barber — “Another Brick In the Wall“ by Pink Floyd
Will sings like he needs to let it out. There’s aggression, passion and fire all the way through. He’s taken one of the most iconic songs of all time and made it his own, he’s an artist through and through.
Andreas Kümmert — “Rocketman”
Talking about Judges loosing their shits, well a different set of judges loose their shit here. And you can tell why the performance is absolutely amazing. This man was born to sing this song.
Vincent Vinel — “Lose Yourself” by Eminem
This blind audition first got me into The Voice. This article is here because of it. I don’t want to leave any spoilers behind, so just watch it and enjoy.
Denzel — ‘Akuma’
“Akuma” is a really cool song, I thought it was the theme song by Black Panther. But its an original and its super cool.
ONAIR — “Stairway To Heaven” by Led Zeppelin
This is an A-Capella performance and if you have watched Pitch Perfect this hits all the right bells. This could easily be a scene from that movie. ONAIR also have a phenomenal battle with Kim Unger, which is an amazing performance by them both.
Sam Perry — “When Doves Cry” by Prince
Sam Perry is a looping artist he is not just a singer, he is a performer and a DJ. Just the sheer amount of effects he brings into this one song is wow.
Spleen sings, “Toxic” by Britney Spears
This is just so damn Unique. Easily the most fun audition on this list. This made me see the human throat in a whole new light of possibilities.
Bonus — Dimash Kudaibergen
This is an audition that was not on The Voice. Dimash Kudaibergen is an alien, the range of his voice is just preposterous, from pop to Opera to deep rumbling manly voice he’s got it all. I don’t even know what he’s singing, but this man from Kazakhstan makes me want to learn whatever language he is singing in just to appreciate his song better. In my books he is the best singer in the world. Period.
