It’s quite funny to look back on how we were thinking, that house can be build in 3–4 months, now it brings a smile from our naivety.

It took good 3 years to finnish it. My husband Riddhwaj or shortly Rid, had interesting ideas in his mind to make house from outside neat, but simple, but inside something that you won’t expect to see.

Concrete furniture concept was fascinating our minds for a while and

Pinterest was our friend to play.

Trouble was that to create something as this in Assam wasn’t easy, people just don’t know and never made something like this. You are more like pioneer, but we still decided to make it real.

One thing was very clear, we wanted house whiout sharp edges, we get bruises very easily. I remember how Rid was helping people with his hand guiding and showing how it suppose to be.

Other thing we wanted to be able clean and repaint our walls, furniture with ease, that is why we chose common, washable white color.

I think our motto will be “Easy —better ” or “simpler —better” in a way that we can fix it locally, whiout any troubles of waiting for weeks.

While our house construction we were learning to accept our limitations and to find new ideas, ways, not to take unnecessary risks with materials. It was interesting journey with building our home we went through transformation as well as a couple. It’s not easy in many ways, but it was good in the same time.

I hope you will find something interesting for yourself. I only shared two rooms in this post, but there will be more articles on this topic.

Thank you for you attention and hopefully see you next time.
